The image of finding quiet waters is embedded in Psalm 23, a passage of the Old Testament in the Bible. David, who was at the time king of the nation of Israel, wrote these words:
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want-
He makes me lie down in green pastures-
He leads me beside quiet waters-
He restores my soul.
I believe that one of the things God wants to do in our lives is to lead us beside quiet waters- to bring us to a quiet place and time where we can be refreshed.
